What is a medical tourist visa?

It is an exclusive visa to allow international patients to have treatments in a South Korean hospital.

Applicants - Patients can apply via an invitation from a medical institution or agency. Under the Medical Law, they must enter the country exclusively for treatments or recovery at a registered medical institution.
- C-3-(M) Visa: This is issued when the period for treatment and recovery is less than 90 days. For simple treatments, including cosmetic surgery.
- G-1-(M) Visa: This is issued for up to one year when long-term medical care and rehabilitation are required.
Application Site Embassy or Consulate of the Republic of Korea
Required Documents - Copy of Passport. Its expiry date must be six months longer than the date the visa is issued.
- One standard passport photo sized 3cm x 4cm in natural color
- Documents to prove medical conditions issued by a medical institution.
- Financial proof to verify that you can afford to pay associated costs during your stay.
- Copy of registration of overseas medical institution or related business
- Copy of (Article 23, Subsection 24 of the Medical Law Service Act)
- Certificate of the education completion of the immigration office work done by an employee in charge, a chief manager of the international medical department of a foundation, or a CEO of a service provider.
Re-applying for a Medical Tourist visa When you re-apply for a medical tourist visa, you must have a medical record to explain the purpose of re-entry.

'Outstanding Medical Travel Facilitator'

HanGil Eye Hospital is designated as an Outstanding Medical Travel Facilitator by the ministry of justice. The international patients who use medical institutions with this designation can enter the country by receiving an electronic visa. They can also visit the country for medical tourism by simply presenting their visa issuance certificate number.
