What is a medical tourist visa?
Foreign patient exclusive visa: with the purpose of having treatment in a hospital within South Korea.
A patient who plans to enter Korea for medical treatment or recuperation by a local medical institution in Korea,
or a caregiver (including family member) of a patient under the "Medical Law"
● C-3-(M) : Treatment and trip period is 90 or less days (relatively simple treatment, such as plastic surgery)
● G-1-(M) : 1 year (long-term medical care and rehabilitation)
- Embassy of the Republic of Korea or Consulate
● Copy of Passport with (at least 6 months remainder validity)
● One standard size Photo (in natural color, size: 3.5cm x 4.5cm)
● Medical purpose document issued by medical institution
● Financial proof (which can prove that you can afford for medical cost and stay in Korea)
● Copy of registration of medical institution or related business registration
- Copy of (Article 23, Subsection 24 of the Medical Law Service act)
- A copy of business registration and a registration certificate of the inviter (medical institute) Or Immigration Office job training certificate.

Re-apply for Medical Tourist visa
● If you reapply for a medical tourist visa, you must have a medical treatment history record the purpose of re-entry.

‘Outstanding Medical Travel Facilitator’ by the Ministry of Justice
Foreign patients who use medical institutions designated as ‘Outstanding Medical Travel Facilitator’
can enter the country by receiving an electronic visa and visiting the country for medical treatment and tourism
by simply presenting their visa issuance certificate number.
HanGil Eye Hospital was designated as an Outstanding Medical Travel Facilitator in 2018.
